We are pleased to present the Foundations of
Palliative Care, an online introductory course
that the team behind the internationally
renowned Fellowship Program in Palliative Care
offers. This course serves as a condensed version
of the highly successful six-month Fellowship
program and can be taken independently as an
introductory course or as a primer before
embarking on the Fellowship.
Aim
This comprehensive course addresses real-world challenges in establishing palliative care
services, focusing on countries with limited
resources. By employing a problem-solving
methodology, participants will gain invaluable
knowledge and practical skills for effectively
coordinating and overseeing palliative care
services and managing complexities associated
with advanced diseases.
Organisation
The Foundations of Palliative Care
course is a collaborative effort among four
prestigious institutions in the field of palliative
care: St Christopher’s Hospice (United
Kingdom), Institute of Palliative Medicine - WHO
Collaborating Centre for Community
Participation in Palliative Care and Long Term
Care (India), Sanjeevan Palliative Care Program
(India), and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical
University (Bangladesh).
Dates
The course is scheduled for June 19th and
20th (Monday and Tuesday) and July 3rd and 4th
(Monday and Tuesday) in 2023. Each of the four
days will consist of six hours of engaging online
sessions, running from 7.30 am to 2.30 pm GMT
