Palliative care, as you know try to improve life of patients with incurable disease and the long term bedridden by reducing the physical, mental, socio-economic and spiritual problems. The goal is to provide pain-free and dignified last days.
At IPM, more than 20,000 patient contacts are done every year through Out-Patient department, In-Patient department and Home care. Every year, 2,000 new patients register with us.
The annual expenditure for our varied ventures comes around 20 million INR which includes patient care, home care, medicines, food for In-patients, monthly food kit for poor patients, rehabilitation of long term bedridden patients and educational support for their children, training programs for doctors, nurses, volunteers and students, research and development, running palliative care courses in different places and creating compassionate communities across the world. All the expenses are met solely through random donations.
As part of developing a sustainable resource mobilising system, we are building up a platform called TWL (Tracks We Leave) were people can participate in this venture through micro to moderate donations.
We are running a premium TWL membership campaign FREEDOM FROM PAIN with an intention to identify individuals/groups/institutions/organizations who can donate 10,000 rupees per year which is the estimated cost for end of life care of a patient for one year.
As death spares none, palliative care is a possible need for all of us. We need you to improve the quality of care and spread the message of compassion.
