BCCPM is a six-week course conducted by the Institute of Palliative Medicine-World Health Organization Collaborating Center (WHOCC) for Community Participation in Palliative Care and Long Term Care, (Training unit of Pain and Palliative Care Society, Kozhikode, Kerala, India). The course aims to impart practical skills and knowledge in palliative care for doctors.
The majority of patients in need of palliative care are currently looked after by health care professionals without formal training in palliative care. The Basic Certificate Course in Palliative Medicine is aimed at helping Doctors to consolidate and develop their confidence and expertise in palliative care. The course is also designed to introduce the subject to health care professionals who wish to develop specialist palliative care knowledge and skills in future.
- Eligibility: MBBS/ BDS with registration with the relevant Medical/ Dental Councils
- Course Structure: The Basic Certificate Course will be in hybridmode.
- Theory Sessions: Introductory Theory sessions will be delivered online from 27 th November 2024.
- Assignments/ Evaluations: There will be assignments/ tests at regular intervalsthroughout the course
- Clinical Training: Hands-on clinical training will be held from06thDecember till 08 th January 2024.
- Eligibility for certification: Score 50% marks in each evaluation.
- Examination: The Final examination will be conductedon 08th and 09th January 2025.
